What to do when your Sigenergy battery is critically low
Your Sigenergy battery will naturally lose a small amount of charge over time even when not in use. If the battery isn't being regularly charged — whether by solar or the grid — it can drop to a critically low level. Left too long without charging, this can cause permanent damage to the battery.
Under normal conditions your system manages this automatically. But if something prevents charging — such as an extended grid outage with no solar input, a system fault, or an incorrectly set parameter — the battery may not recover on its own.
What the app will show
If your battery is critically low, the mySigen app will display a low battery warning. You may also notice the battery percentage sitting at or near 0% for an extended period.
How long before it becomes a problem
If your battery is sitting between 1–10% charge, it needs to be charged within 7 days to avoid damage.
If your battery is at 10% or above but not charging, charge it within 30 days.
What to check first
Open the mySigen app and check whether the system is online and what working mode it's set to. If the system is offline, follow the WiFi reconnect guide first.
Check your switchboard to make sure no solar or battery circuit breakers have tripped.
If the system appears to be running normally but the battery isn't charging, it may be a parameter or settings issue — contact us and we can check your configuration remotely.
