My Sonnen battery shows offline - what should I do?
If your Sonnen app shows the battery as offline, it almost always means the battery has lost its internet connection - not that it has stopped working. The battery keeps charging and discharging as normal; you just cannot see it in the app until the connection is restored.
Steps to get it back online:
1. Check your home internet is actually working - try loading a website on another device.
2. Restart your router (switch it off, wait 30 seconds, switch it back on) and give everything 10-15 minutes to reconnect.
3. Most Sonnen batteries connect with a network cable. If yours does, check the cable is firmly plugged in at both the battery and the router (or wall point) - a cable that has worked loose is a very common cause.
4. If you have recently changed internet provider or router, the battery may need to be reconnected to the new network - contact us and we will talk you through it.
5. Still offline after an hour? Email service@brightearthsolar.com.au with your name and address and we will check it from our end - in many cases we can see what is wrong remotely.
Please note: while the battery is offline it also cannot receive software updates, so it is worth getting it reconnected even though it keeps working day to day.
