How to restart your Sigenergy inverter and system
There are two ways to restart your Sigenergy system — through the mySigen app, or manually using the physical switches. Both achieve the same result. Use the app method if your system is still connected and responsive. Use the manual switch method if the app shows the system as offline or unresponsive.
The battery packs do not need to be restarted separately — they are controlled through the inverter and will come back online automatically when the system restarts.
Method 1 — Restart via the mySigen app (easiest)
- Open the mySigen app
- Tap Settings in the bottom right corner
- Scroll down and tap Power-Off
- Wait at least 2–3 minutes for the system to fully power down
- Return to Settings and tap Power-On
The system will take a few minutes to come back online fully. Check the LED indicators — you should see the DC and AC indicators return to solid green during normal daylight hours.
Method 2 — Restart using the physical switches
Use this method if the app is not responding or the system appears completely offline.
To shut down:
- Open the Sigenergy Gateway and turn off the switch labelled Inverter Supply — this is the AC switch. Flip it up to turn it off.
- Open the cover on the left side of the inverter by pulling it upward. Locate the DC switch and turn it to the OFF position.
- Wait at least 5 minutes. This allows the internal components to fully discharge before restarting.
To restart:
- Turn the DC switch back to the ON position first
- Then turn the Inverter Supply (AC) switch back on inside the Gateway
The order matters — DC on before AC. The system will take a few minutes to come back online fully.
Important notes
- Always wait at least 5 minutes between shutting down and restarting — restarting too quickly can cause the system to not come back on correctly
- If you used the physical ON/OFF button on the inverter body to shut down, you must use that same button to restart — press and hold for more than 3 seconds
- After restarting, the system activates its WiFi hotspot briefly. If your app loses connection after a restart, follow the WiFi reconnect guide
When not to restart
Do not attempt to restart the system if you can smell burning, see smoke, or notice signs of overheating near the inverter, battery, or switchboard. Contact us immediately at service@brightearthsolar.com.au.
