GoodWe routine maintenance schedule
GoodWe routine maintenance schedule
Your GoodWe system is built to run reliably with minimal intervention, but a few regular checks help maintain performance and catch any issues early. Most of these are visual inspections you can do yourself. If you find anything that looks wrong, contact us rather than attempting a repair.
Every 6 months — system cleaning
Check the inverter's heat sink and air inlet and outlet vents for dust, debris, or blockages. Clean if needed using a soft brush or dry cloth. Do not use water or compressed air. A blocked heat sink can cause the inverter to overheat and reduce output.
Also check that the space around the inverter and battery is clear of stored items or debris.
Every 6 months — installation check
Visually inspect the inverter and battery to confirm they are securely mounted. Check that all fastening screws are tight and that neither unit shows any visible damage, deformation, or signs of impact.
Every 6 months — electrical connections
With the system powered off, check that all cable terminals are firmly connected. Inspect cable sheathing for any cracking, wear, or exposed copper. Check that all unused cable entry holes are properly sealed. If you notice any damage to cabling, contact us before restarting the system.
Every 6 months — fan check
Listen for any unusual noise from the inverter fan during operation. Check that the fan blades are free from cracks or obstructions. If the fan sounds abnormal or appears to be running slowly, contact us.
Annually — sealing check
Check that all cable entry holes into the inverter and battery are properly sealed. Gaps or unsealed holes can allow moisture or insects to enter, which may cause faults over time.
Battery — every 15 days if not in regular use
If your battery has not been fully charged or discharged for an extended period, it's recommended to run a charge cycle every 15 days to protect battery health. Under normal operation your system handles this automatically.
Don't open the equipment
Do not open the inverter casing, battery unit, or any internal enclosures. All servicing beyond these visual checks must be carried out by a qualified technician. To book a maintenance visit, email service@brightearthsolar.com.au.
