I've changed internet provider - how do I reconnect my solar system?
When you change internet provider or get a new router, your solar system usually loses its WiFi connection - the new network has a different name and password. Your solar and battery keep working normally, but your monitoring app will show the system as offline until you reconnect it. The fix takes about 10 minutes.
1. Make sure your new internet connection is up and running - check another device like a laptop or TV can get online.
2. Have your new WiFi network name and password handy (they are usually printed on the bottom of the new router).
3. Follow the reconnection guide for your system - we have step-by-step articles in this help centre for Sigenergy ("How to reconnect your Sigenergy inverter to WiFi"), GoodWe ("How to connect your GoodWe inverter to WiFi") and Alpha ESS ("How to reconnect your Alpha ESS system to WiFi").
4. If you have a Sonnen or another battery brand, or your system connects through a WiFi dongle, contact us and we will talk you through it.
Tip: if you kept the same network name and password as your old connection, most systems reconnect by themselves within a few minutes - give it a little while before changing anything.
